Our story began with an unexpectedly long COVID date. Adelaide was slowly lifting pandemic lockdown restrictions, so we met for coffee and lunch, both takeaway only, followed by many hours of walking and talking.
Possibly the first and last time Sheri got her steps in.

Several more dates followed in quick succession, with both of us knowing that this wouldn’t last long because Toby was booked to travel back to the UK the moment flights restarted.
However, fate (in the form of repeated Malaysian Airlines flight cancellations) had other plans.
By the time that flight to the UK finally came it was many months later and we were falling in love, the sort of love that makes you agree to crazy things like starting a long distance relationship when borders are still closed due to a pandemic.
In the interests of full disclosure, long distance was hard. Really hard. But a few (eight) months later Toby had somehow secured a job back in Australia and was on a plane to Perth.
This, considerably shorter, form of long distance continued for a year or so, with both of us becoming frequent flyers.
Eventually, Sheri made the move from Adelaide to Perth and we were finally in the same city and living together, just in time for Toby to find a new job… back in Adelaide.
And that is where we’ve been until this moment, building our lives together and falling deeper and deeper in love.
We look forward to continuing our journey together, and hope you’ll be able to join us for our next major milestone on April 24.
